Part 4 A Blind Date

      Amy tried so hard to calm herself. Why was she being all out only for mere blind date? She had even been forced to wear white satin dress with no collar and black stiletto. Her smooth face glowed in thick make-up, her delicate lip looked attractive, and her white skin shone brightly. People always admired her slender figure and her big crystal eyes, although she never thought she would be alluring and captivating someone’s heart.

            A beep message appeared on the screen of her cellphone. Amy’s lip curved sweetly.

            Great! All went as she planned.

            Twenty minutes later, a red colored Mercedes arrived in the fancy restaurant which is popular recently. Amy smiled wide, then she waved to his father’s driver. He brought her to make sure she would not run from this meeting.

            Pretending, she entered the restaurant. Mr. Zhen, family Li’s driver soon sent message to his master, then rode a car away.

            After assuring Mr. Zhen had gone, Amy went out by walking fast. In parking lot, she met Carrie Lei, her best friend. They headed to a white car. Both went inside it. Carrie gave a huge box while was sitting in passenger’s seat. Amy took it excitedly. When she opened it, a black mini dress with shoulder strapped and necklines are low made her frowned.

            “Dear Carrie, is this dress too provocative? I can’t wear it.”

           Carrie giggled. “Oh, c’mon Amy. That’s the best dress I found in the short time. The dress would look sexy but elegant on you. Other dresses would make you like slut.”

            Amy clucked over Carrie’s teasing tone. After seconds, she surrendered in the idea to throw this dress.

            While she tried to change her clothes, Carrie hummed happily. She could not wait to see the funny show which her best friend would perform.

            “Honey, who’s that man? You told me everything, but you did not mention his name.”

            Amy looked struggling to wear dress, so she did not pay attention too much for Carrie. “Theo Chen.” She replied casually.

            “Who?” Carrie turned her head to the back seat.

            “Theo Chen.” Amy repeated.

            “What??!Theo Chen?!Theo Chen from Chen family who owned New Star Group?!” Carrie was shocked. Her eyes widened.

            “Hmmm.”

            “Amy Li, are you serious?” Carrie saw her in disbelief. Undoubtedly, this news gave big twist.

            Amy nodded. She was preparing her make-up. Carrie sat upright.

            “Oh, dear. You got yourself a big jackpot. Never in my wildest dream that you would get married to Theo Chen, the most qualified bachelor in S city. Oh gosh!” She spoke excitedly, almost screamed out.

            “Carrie Lei, please stop being exaggerated.” Amy responded in dissatisfied look.

            Carrie laughed lowly. The initial euphoria still lingered.

            “Seriously, Amy. You are so lucky. There are so many women out there who willingly threw themselves into Theo Chen’s arm. They even don’t mind being mistress as long they can capture his heart. He looked like an emperor surrounded by many concubines.”

            Amy pouted her lip. “If that so, I would be more than glad to give my position to them.”

        Carrie wore a wicked grin. “Dear, Theo Chen is a perfect husband. He is good-looking, clever, well-educated and importantly he is from the most influential family in this city. Imagine, you would be the center of envy from women.”

        These facts made Carrie want to give Amy a salute. She was drowning in deep thought. Suddenly something crossed in her mind.

            “Amy, I think this is a fate. You were given a gift as you experienced so much pains in the past.” Carrie exclaimed in delight.

            Amy stopped applying her lipstick. She stared in confused face.

           “Indeed. What I mean is when you announce your marriage with Theo Chen, that stupid jerk Kevin Gu and evil woman Emma Zhang would get huge surprise. You would totally destroy Kevin jerk’s pride since Theo Chen is a far much better than him.”

            Amy shook her head when she realized a conspiracy in Cherry’s voice.

            “No way, Carrie. Stop thinking too much.” She protested.

           Carrie raised her eyebrows. “You are so naïve, Amy. I don’t want to take advantage from marriage either. But I detested that damned Kevin so much to the point I really want to punch his face and make his life miserably as much as I can by any means.”

            A death silence wrapped up the air between them. Amy tried so hard to prevent her tears welled from her eyes. Carrie cursed herself. Honestly, she did not want to bring up the misery past of Amy since she knew well how painful it is for her. Amy almost lost her will to live five years ago. She scolded Kevin Gu harshly in her mind.

      However, a tense air disappeared after they entered the restaurant five minutes later. Amy felt uncomfortable as people was staring her and even whispering each other.

            Damn these sexy clothes!

            Amy sat on chair nervously. She came 10 minutes earlier. Carrie sat not far away from her, only two table and she took a sip of lemonade juice. Smile has never been a way from Carrie’s lip. She felt satisfied as Amy’s figure was fitted perfectly. A tiny waist, a well-shaped hip, and slender legs. A black mini dress made her looked so enchanting.

            In her daily life, Amy always wear t-shirt and jeans. She has never been bothered to use a complete make-up. Her silky shoulder-length hair usually is tied up into a bun or ponytail. Now, she is wearing make-up on face which masked her white fair skin. She let her hair fell a bit messy. This emphasizes her being gorgeous yet seductive.

           Fifteen minutes passed, but the man was still nowhere. Amy gritted her teeth, anger overflowed gradually. She glanced many times towards entrance. Sometimes she took look at Carrie who shrugged her shoulders.

         She sipped her green tea when a waiter and a handsome man were approaching her. Carrie unconsciously sat upright and almost shouted because of excitement. However, not only her but also all women stared him as soon as he appeared in cold and domineering way. His appearance could make women losing a breath.

            “Ms. Amy Li.” Greeted a waiter politely.

            Amy lifted her head up. Her confused eyes met his, then she turned her attention to a tall man who was standing beside a waiter. A waiter gestured a pointed hand to this man with respect towards her.

            “This is Ms. Li, Mr. Chen.”

            Amy’s black eyes widened in surprise. She could not believe meeting with him. Her eyes blinked several times. This man looked familiar.

            Amy recalled her memory. This man is so handsome and has perfectly sculpted physique. Obviously, he could have not been forgotten. She held her breath as Theo sat down after nodded to waiter who bowed to him.

           Before Theo looked at her, Amy quickly diverted her stare. Suddenly she felt embarrassed with her daring appearance. She regretted her extreme way to evade the marriage business wherein she could only tell the truth to him.

            Theo studied the woman in front of him. He frowned a deep furrow in his brows when was gazing her.

            What a mischievous woman!

           He felt irritated. He lost his utmost respect for this woman instantly. Surely, he did not remember Amy since he has never interested in any woman other than his girlfriend.

            Meanwhile, Amy was convincing herself to continue the game she intended for. She tried to calm before opened her mouth.

            “Mr. Chen, finally we meet. Nice to see you. You are so handsome and charming. You must get many praises about your looks and physics.”

           As spoken, Amy gave a seductive smile. She boldly leaned forward to Theo until her upper chest showed something inappropriately.

            Theo felt extremely disturbed. His expression became colder. His stare could freeze all over Amy’s body. She pulled herself out before Theo icy gaze really burned her into ash.

            “Well, Mr. Chen. Should we order food now?” Amy asked in defeated voice.

            Theo lost his appetite.  

            “Ms. Li, I will go straight to the point.”

            Amy shallowed her saliva. Theo spoke expressionless, his words sounded flat and no hint of emotion.

            “I hate to get involved in this so-called marriage business. I expect the same from you. Unfortunately, i am not in the situation to cancel it. So, Ms. Li, you should be the one who cancel this nonsense.”

           His arrogance as if treating a stranger is surely exasperating Amy. How could he spoke like a victim here?

            Amy felt upset more. Her effort to encourage him canceling the marriage plan was in vain. This man also intentionally did the same to her, but in a rude way.

            “Mr. Chen, did you put all blame on me?”

            Amy crossed her arms in front of her chest. This action grew more annoyance in Theo’s eyes while Amy was completely unaware of making herself more attractive.

            “Ms. Li, let’s have a deal. This marriage plan was discussed without any consent of us. I suggest you should persuade your parents, either do I.”

              Amy considered Theo’s word deeply. She then nodded.

           “Mr. Chen, I will do my best to convince my father. I assure you that this marriage has never been happened.”

            Theo felt amazed. He never expected that this woman would agree without hesitation. This made everything easier, so he had not needed to threaten her. It looked like her appearance has the opposite way with her naivete. He felt disgusted to her dress and make-up, but her clear crystal eyes radiated purity and honesty.

            “Then, I will take a leave. I hope we will not see each other. If there is something you want to discuss regarding this matter, call my secretary.”

              Theo put a small card on the table. He stood up and without shot a second glance he strode towards entrance. Once again, women eyed every move he did.

            Amy enraged inside. She could not believe that man never been bothered to pay attention as if she was unimportant. His thoughtless behavior triggered her to punch his face.

            “What was the deal?” Carrie approached with curious face. She sat down.

            Honestly, she barely listened every word from both since they were talking in low voices.

            Amy pursed her lip. “This blind date was surely the most terrible one. He is a devil king.”

            Carrie stunned for a second.

            “Really? But he is the most handsome and perfect man who ever being your date.”

            “Dear Carrie, do not judge book by its cover. Surely, his look blinded your judgement.”

            Carrie smiled a bit.

            “Well, Amy please consider my advice. You should marry this man.”

            There was a flash of mockery in Amy’s eye.

            “I am really serious, dear. I said this out of revenge for stupid jerk and evil woman.”

            “It is impossible. You know the reason, Carrie. When they found out I was damaged woman, they might accuse my father for a fraud marriage.”

            Carrie clenched her fist tightly. Her heart ached. She then hugged her best friend and Amy lost in deep thought. There was no trace of life in her eyes.
