Part 12 Love and Hate
In
the meeting room, there was a subtle tension which floated in the air. A small
square room has a round shape table and few chairs in the middle with
whiteboard hanging in the wall and two projectors in the both sides which lies on
the top of head. The furniture has minimalistic designs with dominant grey and
brown like tree. A table stacked with documents.
Carrie took a heavy sigh. She gave
up on encouraging her team to continue mode work. A male employee approached
her and said something urgent. This made her felt helpless.
“Let’s continue our meeting
tomorrow. It’d already deadlock anyway.” She dismissed them, then stood and
walked away to her room.
Her heart has become more and more
restless. A wave of melancholic emotions hits her deep feelings. The corridors
seemed to be spacious than usual.
In her room, a tall and quite
good-looking man was sitting with his back facing her sight. Carrie closed the
door slowly. Before walking, she silently inhales and exhales with complicated
look.
“Mr. Jiang, do you need to clarify
something with the investment funds recently?” She was speaking with flat tone
and expressionless face.
Before finished her words, Carrie
sat down in front of that man. The man lifted his head and stared deeply to
her. Carrie felt uncomfortable, so she tried to distract her attention.
Without changing his expression, Mr.
Wu gave a piece of papers. Carrie took it quickly. She had already suffered
mentally, facing this man who she wished to be the last person existed in this
earth.
“Our company would like to finalize
the amount of money and clause in the contract.”
“Like I told before, Mr. Wu, you can
talk to Mr. Pei for follow up since there is no problem with the conditions. I
will …”
“Carrie..”
Carrie was taken back. Her hands
were trembled a bit. She gnashed her teeth and glared hostility towards that
man. How dare he called her with affection and soft tone.
“Mr. Wu, if there is nothing else
left, please …”
“Talking about loans is just an
excuse. I did not expect to have a good talk since it was reasonable for you to
hate me to this level.”
That man gave an odd expression.
Carrie looked away, tried to decipher hidden meaning behind his words.
“Mr. Wu, I would like not talking
about personal matter in the business hour. I still have appointment.” Carrie
spoke coldly. Her eyes looked sharply cold and her aura emitted oppressive
heat.
That man stared at her in tranquil
expression. Carrie rolled her eyes, then without bothering his presence she
leaves immediately.
During her journey, Carrie is
sitting with her mind wandering a series of past memory. Her train of thoughts
is interrupted when she realizes the car is almost approaching Empire Hotel,
five-star hotel which is owned by Anshi International Group and becomes one of
the luxurious accommodations in S city.
“Pei Wen, why do they want to have a
meeting in the hotel?” Carrie said in irritated tone.
A man who drives the car is looking
at Carrie through the rearview mirror.
“Manager Lei, the CEO of Anshi
International Group is famous of having meeting in the hotel owned by company. He
also does not like to please the investors in the clubs or pubs. So, this
meeting is conducted on his behalf of preference.”
“What’s a weirdo.” Carrie murmured
in annoyance. Her father especially warned her that this weird person is a
special client. Anything should be on his liking.
After a car arrived in front of a
huge and luxurious building with the modern minimalistic architecture, Carrie got
out and walked briefly. A front gate boy welcomed her with big smile.
“Welcome to Empire hotel, Miss.
Please enjoy the best service and happiness.”
Carrie threw a small smile. What a great
big mouth! She admitted that although she has an unpleasant memory happened in
this hotel, the majestic vibe and a sophisticated furniture which decorate
every corner of the hotel seems to dismiss her unpleasant feeling. People would
be shocked when they entered inside since the interior design is totally
different comparing to the building from outside. Despite the home appliances
and technologies are the newest one, the furniture is appeared vintage with
most of it made from high quality wooden. Even the lobby is filled with the
nobility as it is heavily encrusted furniture inspired by 18th
century.
However, in one of president suite
room Carrie barely restrain her anger. She is waiting for almost one hour for
this stupid CEO while two people of their client always apologize every ten
minutes and wipe out their beads od sweat in the forehead. Shen Wen glances his
team leader frequently, afraid of her being exploded and threw a tantrum. He
knows her temper very well.
Carrie suddenly stand up, making
three people in the room startled nervously.
“What? Am I not allowed to go to the
toilet?” Carrie spoke harshly as she threw a sharp look.
They took a relieved breath. As she
was walking out, a mobile phone which is held by one of two people in opposite
side rang loudly.
“Hello, sir. We are waiting in the
room as your instruction. Manager Lei from Glory Finance Enterprise is here as
you requested.”
From the other line, Jasper is
walking with distressed look and entering the lift to the highest floor. This
morning was supposed to be his relaxing moment after experience a wild and wanton
one-night stand with a beauty. However, his mother sudden invasion made him
experienced a nightmare. Madam Liu is a lady from upper-class with long history
of aristocracy which held immaculate morals and upright behaviors. Therefore,
she could not tolerate her only son’s antics in relationship with women.
However, her endless efforts to rectify her son towards women always end up
useless. She even went far to throw all whores who seduced her son
aggressively.
Madam Liu never hate a woman with
low-class background if her son loves that woman which make her respected by
societies, but she despised any woman with ill-behavior and improper talk.
Jasper has always been together with that type of women since he hates serious
relationship. His father looks honorable and devoted husband in front of
people, but he has mistresses behind his mother.
“Damn! I should not come.” Jasper
cursed as he went out of the lift.
His phone rang. A message displayed.
Young
master, the file about Miss Amy Li is completed. We apologize that this is
probably limited since she had spent almost five years abroad
Jasper creased his brows. Then
another message appeared.
Let’s
meet in the club in our private room at 8.30 pm
He
almost jumped out hysterically. This is the second time his best friend, Theo
requested drinking together. Theo had had left drinking and smoking habit when
he found his loved one.
Janet
Shen! Jasper whispered softly. A beautiful woman with long silk hair, an
almond-shaped eyes with long eyelashes, white smooth skin, and a wonderful
smile. A woman who could capture the man’s heart easily even if she just stood
up.
Jasper quickly typed his response to
two messages while passing through the corridor.
“Sweet honey, please answer your
phone.” From the opposite way Carrie anxiously tried calling someone several
times. Something crossed her mind when she heard two women spoke each other in
the toilet about their plan.
Desperately, she bowed her head and
typed message with high speed.
“Bastard! I hate this day! Why do I
forget this hateful day” Carrie angrily cursed as she stepped forward without paying
much care around her.
Suddenly, the clash happened.
Someone got out from one room with cart full of cleaning tools. The cart bumped
Carrie, resulted a high shock and threw her sideways while Jasper was passing
by in the left-side.
With the sound “bang”, Carrie
screamed as she landed into Jasper’s body with the sudden attack. The man was
surprised, instinctively grabbed her abruptly to block speed caused by weight.
Carrie eyes widened in horror when they fell down on the floor even after
Jasper tried to balance his body towards pressure.
Jasper groaned in pain. He was
focused too much on his phone and did not realized somebody would attack him.
However, his pain disappeared in an instant when he felt a soft body on the
top. Furthermore, something soft and quite big of someone’s bosom pressured
him, electrified a series of unwilling desire.
Their eyes met in silence. Carrie
was quite surprised when meeting a gaze with a handsome man while Jasper
narrowed his eyes, displeased to her strong aura and fierce face.
“Oh, I am truly sorry miss, sir.” An
early thirties lady quickly stepped forward anxiously. Her rounded-face became
pale.
This voice snapped the deep staring
between them. Carrie tried to get up, but her move made Jasper hissed in pain.
He suddenly rolled over, and their position reversed back.
“Miss, are you trying to seduce me?”
A whisper with sexy and hoarse voice stunned Carrie for a while.
What the
heck this man talking about!
Carrie glared resentfully with his
improper question. A jaw of the cleaning lady almost dropped with the sudden
intimate.
“Please move away, mister.” Carrie
spoke irritatingly. This playboy is a type of person she hates the most.
Flattering words, a seductive smile, and mirth eyes could describe him and
these annoyed her more.
Jasper stared at her in amazement.
He chuckled a bit.
“Miss, was you who throwing yourself
towards me yet you did not apologize first?”
Carrie rolled her eyes. “Then, I really
am sorry for that, mister. Now, move away.”
Jasper smirked wickedly. Never in
his life he would encounter such a woman. He is one of the top five hot males
in S city for three years in a row.
“I will move if you compensate me
for the damage.” Jasper seems like coaxing her in ambiguous tone. His face was
so close, Carrie even felt his hot breathing.
She felt annoyed to the peak. With
stiffen body, she kicked his left leg hard. Jasper let out painful groan as he
fell to the side. Carrie finally freed herself and stood up. A cleaning woman
once again looked at them in disbelief.
Carrie mocked the man who was busy
to rub his left leg to ease the pain. “Mister, your flirt does not work on me.
Don’t flatter yourself.”
By saying these words, Carrie left
him speechless. Jasper then sat up and look at her figure who slowly
disappeared. He shook his head in amused. His magic words were truly deemed
useless since the woman did not even batting an eye to knock his pride as a
famous womanizer.
His handphone rang, distracted him
entirely. Meanwhile a cleaning lady stood there and admired his handsome face.
Jasper ignored her, turned his back
to the lift.
“Manager Yang, tell the
representative from Glory Finance that I am not available. Just signing the
agreement and report it back to me.”
As he finished his words, manager
Yang’s face who sat across Pei Wen lose color. This is not the first time their
CEO would abandon the important meeting suddenly. Although this agreement could
be dissolved, the company image would suffer a bit since this small finance
company has a strong reputation in S city. His colleague threw questioned look,
but in an instant realized the aggrieved face of his partner. Then both looked
at Pei Wen who was busily with his phone.
Meanwhile, Carrie finally let out
deep breath after her calling could pass on someone. The regular breathing from
the other line reassured herself that everything would be fine.
“Sweet honey, don’t lose yourself. Today
is just another day. Don’t think it too much.”
Carrie hates it desperately when she
was reminded a series of sufferings five years ago.
A mellow sound, more like a soft
whisper responded her. She could trace a wave of pains in that tone.
“Carrie, I am alright. I am sorry to
always remind you about unpleasant things.”
Carrie closed her eyes, painfully
and in despair. Today it would become a nightmare again for her best-friend, a
reminder of Amy’s foolishness for love. She swore that certain persons should
felt how is the meaning going through life and death. Her plan is almost
completed, just wait for that persons coming.
“Amy, let’s take back what they took
from you. Just bear with that pains, then your hate would be paid.” Carrie
voiced this inside her mind.
Meanwhile, Jasper was in deep long
silent after finished reading the summary of report.
“Amy Li, miscarriage after carrying
an un-born baby for 6 weeks. She got rehabilitation for one year and monitored
for three years. Identified as a mental patient (the record was difficult to
obtain). Her ex-boyfriend disappeared along with her ex-best friend. Rumor has
it that she got raped by several men (not confirmed). Graduated as one of
outstanding students and came back to S city to work in sales department of
advertising company.”
“Congratulations, Theo. You got yourself a
troublesome woman. Do you will love her or loathe her?” Jasper’s thought was
wondering in his room.
